From October 22-24, F3 sponsored the FIRA International Forum on Agricultural Robotics in Woodland, California—a global event that brought together stakeholders in agtech to explore robotics in agriculture. With over 75 representatives from our network and 10 research posters presented by our faculty, students, and post-doctoral scholars, we showcased F3’s ongoing work and collaboration in technology and sustainability in agriculture.

At the center of F3’s involvement was the F3 Pavilion, which represented an alliance of partners, including UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR), Fresno State, and UC Merced. Together, we highlighted work in the Central Valley to support sustainable agricultural innovation, from field trials to R&D. This space was more than an exhibit—it was a hub of collaboration, where experts, industry leaders, and students engaged in conversations about robotics and technology in farming.

A key aspect of the event was the platform it provided for our researchers. Faculty members, students, and post-docs from F3 and our academic partners showcased 10 research posters covering topics in agtech. These posters highlighted advancements across the Central Valley, from autonomous machinery to crop management systems and robotics-driven sustainability practices.

The international scope of FIRA opened doors to global connections and built new relationships within the agtech industry. By bringing together experts from various parts of the world, FIRA presented F3 with an opportunity to expand our network, reinforce existing partnerships, and explore new areas for growth and cooperation. This event also served as a key moment for F3 to develop our talent pipeline, attracting the attention of students and professionals interested in agricultural innovation.

Our involvement in FIRA reflects our commitment to building partnerships and creating pathways for collaboration in agtech. By supporting forums like FIRA, we help move toward a more sustainable future for agriculture—one where robotics and technologies play a role in changing the way we grow, manage, and sustain our food systems.

As we look to the future, F3 remains dedicated to advancing research and development, growing emerging talent, and fostering connections that will help shape the next phase of agricultural innovation. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported us at FIRA, and to our partners who help make our work possible. We’re excited to continue this journey and look forward to more milestones together!
