Inclusive Innovation Postdoctoral Scholar
Kimberly Gibson is an interdisciplinary researcher interested in improving the sustainability, productivity, and inclusivity of agriculture. Originally from Fresno, Kimberly earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Horticulture and Agronomy from UC Davis where she studied crop genetics, plant breeding, and novel sensor technology to improve insect resistance in Lima beans. She earned a B.A. with honors in Urban Studies from Stanford University with a capstone project on how urbanization affects small-holder farmers in India. In her current role of Postdoctoral Scholar for Inclusive Innovation for Climate Smart Agriculture, she is studying solutions that address both environmental sustainability and access to opportunity in the agricultural economy of the Central Valley of California.
