Postdoctoral Engineer in Agrifood Technology

Mohammed Aburidi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at VISTA. He earned his Ph.D. and MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Merced, following an MSc in Scientific Computing and a BSc in Physics from An-Najah National University. Mohammed develops web-based systems for environmental scientists and leverages artificial intelligence and optimization techniques to enhance water resource management and hydropower generation in California’s Central Valley. His previous research focused on graph and geometric machine learning, emphasizing optimization to solve real-world challenges. He has interned at Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories and contributed to neuroscience and computational science research at international institutions. A recipient of multiple fellowships, Mohammed has published extensively in machine learning and biomedical informatics.
