The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) is hosting this year’s Small Farm Tech Expo at UC Merced — a full-day, hands-on event designed for small-scale farmers and ranchers, community organizers, researchers, and innovators shaping the next wave of small-farm technology.
See live demonstrations of appropriately scaled tools and machinery, explore open-source and digital technologies ready to deploy this season, and discover low-cost mechanization strategies tailored for small acreage operations.
Date: Tuesday, December 2, 2025
Location: UC Merced Conference Center
Agenda to be announced.
This year’s Expo features two workshop tracks — Digital Tech and Hard Tech — covering topics like farm marketing tools, satellite imaging, agrivoltaics, electric tractors, and solar-powered systems. With dedicated spaces for software and hardware, you can talk directly with developers, try out equipment, and find tools that fit your farm’s scale and goals.
Enjoy locally sourced lunch, bilingual sessions (English/Español), and raffles throughout the day! This is a free event.
