Professor Reza Ehsani has been named an inaugural recipient of the 2024 CITRIS Innovation Fellowship and AIC Awards. This program, launched in partnership with the Academic Innovation Catalyst (AIC), provides up to $200,000 over two years to help faculty commercialize research that tackles society’s biggest challenges. Dr. Ehsani is developing a low-cost, plant health sensor for irrigated agriculture. This sensor will offer farmers an efficient tool to optimize water use and improve crop management. His work directly addresses the increasing challenges posed by climate change and drought by helping farmers optimize irrigation schedules, save water, and reduce stress to the plants.
