PhD Candidate

I am Emmanuel Rabago Moreno, a recent graduate of UC Merced with dual B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics. Growing up in California’s Central Valley as a first-generation student, I developed a deep interest in applying science and engineering to real-world challenges that affect my community, from agriculture to energy. My research spans renewable energy, nanomaterials, and astrophysics, and I’ve worked on projects ranging from modeling dark matter to developing water-management technologies for farmers. This fall, I am beginning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at UC Merced, where I aim to continue bridging fundamental research with practical solutions for sustainability.
