Problem Solver Survey: Innovation in the Central Valley!

The Problem Solver Survey is based on the idea that everyone can be an innovator. There are a few goals with this survey: to learn about the opportunities and barriers to problem solving, to identify areas where researchers and others in the F3 network could work on problems, and to create.

In the survey, we ask what slows down problem solving? And what are the biggest challenges to ag? Your response to the short survey will help our team identify ways to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem and support the future of ag technology.

Why This Matters

The Central Valley has a rich history of agricultural innovation. As challenges reshape the ag and food industry, new challenges reshape the ag and food industry, new research and creative problem-solving are more important than ever.

Through this survey, we aim to:

  • Understand how work experience shapes innovation.
  • Identify barriers to creating new ideas.
  • Connect with partners and collaborators interested in pursuing innovative ideas.

Your insights will help us develop further research, educational programs, outreach events, and resources that support innovators and problem solvers in the Central Valley.

Who Can Participate?

We are looking for people working in agricultural production, food processing, ag-supporting businesses, technology, research, entrepreneurship, and related fields. You do not need to have created an invention to participate.

Survey Details:

  • Takes about 10 minutes to complete.
  • Open to adults (18+) working in agriculture, food, and related industries.
  • Completely voluntary, you can skip questions or stop at any time.

Responses will be kept confidential and only reported in aggregate form.

How We Protect Your Privacy

Your responses are confidential. Data is stored securely and only accessible to trained researchers at UC Merced.

Optional Contact Information: You may choose to provide your email to receive study results and event updates, but this will be stored separately from your survey responses.

What Happens Next?

Once you complete the survey, we will use the findings to:

  • Identify trends in innovation across the region.
  • Develop programs that supportproblem solvers like you.
  • Publish a research article on innovation in agriculture.
