PhD Candidate

My name is Teodoro Lima, and I am a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at UC Merced. My research focuses on robotics for precision agriculture, with a particular emphasis on robotic harvesting and manipulation systems. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Robotics Engineering from the University of Genoa, with an expected graduation date in October. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Automation Engineering from Politecnico di Bari.

I previously completed an internship at UC Merced, where I contributed to the development of the RIPEN robotic system. This experience allowed me to gain expertise in programming complex robotic systems using platforms like ROS2 and the Kinova GEN3 robotic arm, as well as in integrating computer vision and sensor systems for delicate manipulation tasks. I am excited to continue my work in robotics and contribute to innovative solutions in the agricultural sector.
