This project explores an innovative approach using gravity-gradient quantum sensors (GGQS) for remote sensing, offering a more affordable and environmentally friendly alternative. The research will develop mathematical models and computational techniques to detect groundwater levels based on gravity-gradient data, focusing on soil properties and climate in California's San Joaquin Valley. The project aims to support sustainable agriculture by improving groundwater monitoring, crucial for compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). This research will help advance cost-effective and accessible groundwater monitoring technologies, particularly benefiting smaller farms.
